Its a famous plant which became famous from the hedges of Kerala(veli pathal). It is also called 'Appa'. Its seeds contains 35% of oil that can be dehydrated to use as bio diesel. Jatropha caught public attention after this invention.
Its our hobby to make bubbles from the kadalavankku leaves (juice from the leaf tip). Its juice of the leaves can be used as a wind shield cleaner!!!! (information from an experienced blogger)
